Thousands of plants, including vegetables, herbs, and fruits, especially selected for our Gulf Coast climate.
Popular plants include azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, trees, vines, ferns, roses, groundcovers, and natives. For plant collectors, rare and unusual plants are be available in the Connoisseurs’ Corner. Most of these plants are locally grown, with many grown on premises in our greenhouse. A list of the plants is posted on our website approximately two weeks prior to the sale.
Thursday’s Opening Night Preview Party and Sale has become a biannual social event; from 4 – 8pm guests enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres, music and first choice of plants. Admission is $20 at the gate.
Sale hours are Friday and Saturday from 9am – 4pm; and Sunday from 11am – 4pm. Master Gardeners are on hand to provide advice or assist you in making a selection. Admission to the sale is free. For easier shopping, bring your own wheelbarrow or cart.
This annual benefit serves as both an educational tool and a fundraising event for the ongoing growth and maintenance of the Mobile Botanical Gardens. Additionally, many plants that have become difficult to find are available at our sales, and sometimes nowhere else!
